The SIT started Monday, and so far the boys and girls are doing great things. Both teams flew past their opposition during the first round and are likely to experience more success as the tournament goes on.
“I think the boys will do really well this year,” said senior Liz Thompson. “A lot of the upperclassmen are returning, and a lot of guys who didn’t really play last year are stepping up and becoming leaders themselves; I definitely think they will win(the SIT).”
Freshmen Nick Shaffer believes that the victory over Andover could be one of the most important wins of the tournament.
“Tonight I think we knocked out the best team other than us in the tournament, it’s better that we knocked out the better team earlier, but it would have been maybe a little fairer if we were seeded higher,” said Shaffer.
Many students have high hopes for the girls team as well.
“I think they will win it pretty easily, our girls team is the best team in the state,” said sophomore, Austin Huynh.
The SIT will continue throughSaturday at the Bicentennial Center, and they will provide an opportunity for many to see who the top team is in our area.
